POV: How Simulon works on an iPhone:

1. Create a scene
2. Capture world data
3. Add 3D objects
4. Shoot video
5. Get a photorealistic cloud render

Final render at the end.

Next up: How Simulon connects to Blender.

We've received a few questions about Simulon’s performance in outdoor environments. The effectiveness largely depends on the trackable features in the setting.

Check out this video made by Aaron Sisto in the beta, where he placed 3D assets far apart in a large open meadow. If

Some scene reconstruction R&D at Simulon that produces more detailed meshes quickly and is able to exclude moving objects without explicit segmentation. This improves occlusion of real-world objects and provides better meshes for 3D creators.

Coming to the beta soon.

Let me share a long-awaited behind-the-scenes video of how Simulon works.

It all starts with setting up a scene. You set the location, lighting conditions and capture the light map with a few turns.

After that, you can capture the environment mesh using the Lidar scanner.

I Filmed this short in 5 minutes on my iPhone all VFX. added via Simulon mobile app (private beta) rendered in under 10 minutes for all shots. Voiced generated by ElevenLabs script by ChatGPT . Finally I edited it on iPhone using CapCut !

Cool thing about Simulon is that I can make a quick 3D scan of the environment and use it for occlusions and shadow catching.

In addition to capturing scene lighting, this is one of those things that was doable, but was a pain to setup - now you get it right out of the box 😍

Some more Simulon tests. What’s really amazing is the realism of bounce lighting onto the actual scene. If you look closely, you can see the slight blue light reflect from these balls onto the surface of the ground, just as it would if it were really there.

Simulonベータ。コレはBlenderは使わずiPhoneからそのままアップロードして動画をレンダリングするモード。このモデルはアプリから選べるものだけど自分のモデルもアップ出来るようなので試してみたい

Playing with Simulon so of course I had to see the mosquito amber fossil model for myself and it looks immaculate. And so do the dinosaurs!

You get a preview on your phone to frame the action. Then push a button and a Blender 3D render kicks off in the cloud giving you this 🪄

Can’t wait to see what Blender creators do with Simulon! The original model here is by Jonas Prunskus and can be found on Sketchfab - skfb.ly/6uPGK
