After work check of the WMI site near Calf Heath produced 2 Common & 1 Australian Shelduck, 5 LRP, Common Sand Staffs Bird News
Not much change at RSPB Middleton Lakes this morning with 2 Avocet, 2 RP, 4 LRP, 3 Redshank, Dunlin, CSand & Cuckoo. With only 1 brief record of Wheatear on site this year & no Whinchat yet, where are all the chats? Staffs Bird News Mercian Birding
Morning walk from Castlecroft to Dimmingsdale along canal produced first singing Garden Warbler of year near Dimmingsdale end (103 for 10k circle) also 2 singing Cetti’s & 1 Willow Warbler Staffs Bird News Red Kite circling high over Finchfield at 11:45 & Hobby low NW Gareth Clements
Pretty quiet at RSPB Middleton Lakes early this morning with 3 Avocet, 2 Ringed & 3 Little Ringed Plovers, Dunlin, 2 Common Tern & Cuckoo the best. A Common Sand was on the river by Southern Meadow in Warks. Staffs Bird News Mercian Birding

A total of 68 species at Chasewater (Cuckoo Bank not covered) today. Shag, Arctic Tern, Dunlin and Water Rail but no Sedge or Grasshopper Warbler. Best record was a Wall Brown butterfly.
