What has happened to all the Isle of May guillemots? The first egg was the latest ever but adjusting for that we should still be peak laying now and the cliffs are terrifyingly empty. Even those that have laid don't seem committed and are losing their eggs at an alarming rate.1/2

Watch this rare footage of a Guillemot laying an egg, filmed at Sumburgh Head today by Will Miles. The female Guillemot is tended by her partner throughout the event. The beautiful turquoise egg is finely patterned with black speckles.

Foggy conditions but didnā€™t stop 3 SPOONBILL flying south over the Isle of May at 09:20 representing only the 4th island record and first since 2013.

The weekend proved to be extra special for Gateshead FC as they won the FA Trophy at Wembley for the first time in dramatic fashion. Check out this Vlog created by Heed Army of the trip to the capital (itā€™s very funny in places) link: youtube.com/watch?v=xcY7COā€¦

David Steel Salteeā€™s puffins last weekend. A large number of puffins and razorbills already on the cliffsā€¦. Patches of waterlogging and mud slightly reducing the available space for puffins, but should be drying out with the current weather conditions.
