Happily the story continues. Back for another breeding season, our Suffolk-ringed Nightingale was caught on territory at Abberton Reservoir again today, with a brood-patched female. 🤎

Dotterel at Aldeburgh Marshes this afternoon was a memorable bird to mark my 200th species in Suffolk this year. Congrats to finder Val Lockwood and thanks Keith Loveridge for precise directions. My first in the county for many years.

Super Swift article in the May East Anglian Daily Times Suffolk magazine. Wonderful Waveney Bird Club work with the new Eel’s Foot Inn Swift tower plus it highlights SOSSwifts’ work across the county. They’ll soon be here! Steve Piotrowski SuffolkWildlifeTrust Suffolk Bird Group

Marsh Harrier hunting in the setting sun yesterday RSPB Minsmere 🌍. It's nice to get some back lit photos sometimes, makes for a more realistic image when photographing into the light. Detail is still good, although could be a bit lighter in the shadede parts.

It's a terrible picture but get your magnifying glass out and you'll spy a White Tailed Sea Eagle, seen in the distance from the Bittern hide at Minsmere this afternoon! What a lovely surprise and what an enormous bird! RSPB Minsmere 🌍 RSPB England Suffolk Bird Group
