It’s ! Why not go on one of the many great trails and walks Southwark has to offer over the Bank Holiday. Click here to access - bit.ly/4bk9fTF
and no pressure to beat William Gale’s 4000 quarter miles in 4000 consecutive periods of 10 mins 😅

Here is part of Camberwell Green showing Wren Road Congregational Church in the distance. We think the photo taken in the late 1950s early 60s (?) but certainly in the springtime. This was the same church Dr Harold Moody both worshipped and preached in. 📷P13597

Well done to all who took part in the London Marathon yesterday! Here's a photo from the 1988 London Marathon taken at the junction of Jamaica Road and Lower Road showing the Norwegian Church in the background. Let us know if you took part, we'd love to see your photos!

Albany Road looking east in 1977. On the right are Calmington and Silcote Roads. The pub sign is the Duke of Edinburgh, just down from Bagshot Street. The area on the right was cleared to build Burgess Park, named just over 50 years ago in honour of Cllr. Jesse Burgess.

Canvey Street, c.1930 on junction with Zoar Street. We think this is looking west toward Great Guildford Street. Can anyone confirm please? 📷P4369

Here is St Luke's Church with the North Peckham Estate in the background in 1979. The church was built between 1953-4 and replaced the original church built in 1876 destroyed in WWII. It was the first church in the Diocese of Southwark completely rebuilt after the war.
