Today mark's a very special day in the world of Natural History. It's Sir David's Birthday. Today this amazing man is 98. We are very grateful for the work he did with us and our amazing Pliosaur skull and the amazing film that was produced with him. Happy Birthday Sir David.

Purple Topshells are very common along most seashores in the UK. They are easily identified by their alternating green/grey and purple alternating bands on their shell. They usually inhabit the middle shore where they graze on seaweed.

The entire skull of a huge 'sea monster' was unearthed on the rocks of the Jurassic Coast in southern England.

It belongs to a pliosaur, a ferocious marine reptile that terrorised the oceans about 150 million years
