Dawn chorus from the sea-cliffs. Life abounds amidst the pounding waves of our Atlantic Ocean. Wrens and Stonechats bring melody to the salty air. Ravens croak from their nest ledge as Rock Pipits tumble in song from a height.

So disappointed to see Withybush roundabout and verges being mowed and strimmed aggressively this morning. Wasn’t necessary for safety. not applicable to PembrokeshireCC all those plants lost to our pollinators. Hedges disturbed for nesting birds. 😡

'Hundreds of the world’s leading climate scientists expect global temperatures to rise to at least 2.5C this century, blasting past internationally agreed targets'.

But as one says here: 'we have all the solutions needed for a 1.5C path'...

Not only did employees of Knighton Countryside Management destroy habitat at height of breeding season, they also caused disturbance to a number of Schedule One breeding birds on Pilning wetland. When asked, none could explain why they were cutting in May.

has split personality on environment. Wetlands by Cardiff Bay are full of life. Plus wildlife friendly mowing 👍 BUT upstream pollution/litter on banks of River Taff in centre shocking. We need to look after whole catchment! Cardiff Council over to you

It's truly insane that in an accelerating biodiversity crisis, anyone can buy these deadly chemicals that are designed to kill things for no good reason. It's almost like authorities don't care that our life support system is dying before us.

Coasteering companies aim to operate in environmental, sustainable way and preserve the coastal environment for future generations - that's what they say. So it's deeply concerning this activity takes place on reefs in Pembrokeshire in Wales in only coastal national park in UK!

In many tropical countries trampling over reefs is banned because of the damage it causes.
Why then, in Wales, do our cold water reefs in Special Areas of Conservation & as special features of SSSI have no similar protection from reckless trampling from coasteering on SSSI?

Great job Pembrokeshire County Council PembrokeshireCC not mowing roundabout at entrance to Fishguard Port. Please leave it to continue to flower. So many plant species there now. Looks stunning. Can we have more of this please across Pembrokeshire 👍 Paul Davies MS/AS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This tendency can also be seen in Ireland's 3 large parties, which are flaky, at best, on climate and environmental issues. We heard recently from a Fianna Fáil candidate that farming doesn't need to change while Sinn Féin still have virtually no policies in this area

A huge honour to host the Senedd Biodiversity Day today.

We brought organisations from across Wales into our national parliament to celebrate and promote biodiversity.

A massive thank you to all who came, including our excellent new Cabinet Secretary Huw Irranca-Davies 🌏🌱🟢

Back at the Senedd, the Welsh Parliament, in Cardiff for day hosted by Carolyn Thomas MS - a big nature supporter. Lots of NGOs present working hard to restore across . But in a crisis we all need to do so much more working together IT'S URGENT

But don’t agree re failure rate? We have planted 500 native trees whips on bare previously sheep grazed exposed coastal strip - I’d say at least 95% whips looking strong. It’s harder work for sure though scrambling on slopes

You can grow trees on the coast, & hedgerows, they maybe more compact, & windswept in more exposed areas.

Or they’re situated in valleys leading to the coast, or more sheltered parts. Still vital habitats or shade & shelter for livestock.

Often rare Temperate Rainforest too.
