I wrote this almost a year ago, and predicted a spike in Florida public university faculty departures in response to the undermining of the tenure system. Now that we've almost completed a full academic hiring cycle, here's a new🧵on how we're starting to see that happen:

But even in that short timeframe, UF saw a 20% increase in departures over 2021-22, FSU had a 28% increase, and FIU was up 18%.

A week later the results come in. Both pollsters' ( SienaResearch & Emerson College Polling ) projected winner matched the actual winner and both measures are within the margin of error of the respective polls. Polling provides meaningful information, even in uncertain special elections
