Libyan milk made by the country’s biggest dairy firm Naseem in Misrata being sold in Agadez/Niger. This is certainly a quality alternative to EU-imported milk (from Europe’s subsidized excess production) or unhealthy milk powder.

militants in could easily rebound once Southern African troops leave. The extent of that risk is underestimated by many policymakers in my view. A timely piece by my former colleagues Meron Elias and Pauline Bax at Crisis Group.

Day 2 of our Agadez workshop on migration trends. Today it’s about the local economy - very interesting debate

The mission has been pretty much idle since May 2022 when training was ended over Mali’s cooperation with Russia — this was also an excuse to end an ineffective ops with offered training with tree branches simulating guns. Only Spain had kept a contingent with a general in Bamako

From Chad to Niger. Really happy to be back in Agadez for our first workshop in this ancient Sahel-Sahara transit hub to discuss migration issues - a timely subject.

I think the EU allocated 10 million euros for Chad electoral support via a UNDP fonds, of which part of the payments will be only disbursed if a planned parliamentary vote will actually take place.

I also was told during my last visit 1,000-1,100 French troops at 3 bases in Chad. +3,000 would be what they had before in Chad, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso I believe. But I could be wrong

Some days, >1,000 people cross at Adre, 🇹🇩, acc to UNHCR CHAD. When asked why they are fleeing 🇸🇩, 90% respond because there is nothing to eat. More will flee if WFP Sudan, UNICEF Sudan & partners cannot accelerate distribution of food & nutrition inside .
