Yesterday I was given a guided tour of Hauteville, Victor Hugo's house of exile on Guernsey. He designed the unique, beautiful and eccentric interior himself over 15 years. I'm not usually given to enjoying notable houses. But this was completely astonishing.

Celebrated chef Michel Roux Jr recently paid a visit to Herm Island as part of the Guernsey Lit Fest 2024.
