Just catching up on Word In Your Ear and had my mind blown by the revelation that this (none-more-mid-80s) Whistle Test theme was supposedly a rerecording of Stone Fox Chase. Not doubting David Hepworth 's word, but pretty sure Area Code 615 wouldn't have gone to court over this.
Word In Your Ear I’ve become a bit hooked on the podcast. Got into it via Neil Tennant ep & now happily working through more episodes. Endlessly entertaining. Having just seen a tweet about The Tomorrow People, what were Flintlock all about? They seemed to be in Look-In every week?
shotsmag.co.uk/interview_view… What are award-winning writer John Connolly’s two favourite podcasts? Kermode and Mayo's Take @WIYELondon Find out here. 😉
The fellas from Word In Your Ear recommended the Creative Accounting podcast recently. And now I'm recommending it to you. Hair raising tales from a music biz accountant whose clients included the likes of Lemmy & Bob Marley. Ping Alastair Thomson! podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/cre…
Paul Kirkley Pete Paphides Record Collector Mag Am currently listening to, and very much enjoying, Neil Tennant’s chat with David Hepworth and Mark Ellen on the @WIYELondon podcast. George M gets a mention there too
In the new Word In Your Ear podcast Alex Gold explains the international language of Beatles impersonators and I tell him the story of the Allman Brothers Band. At your ironmonger now.
Word In Your Ear David Hepworth Great Richard Thompson podcast. He's always good value. Here's a photo of that London tube poster sent to me this week by my son Penney Design. And you know I hate to be pedantic but Chuck Berry didn't play a Gibson Switchmaster, it was a Gibson ES350T
This is my favourite podcast, bar none, and I never miss an episode. In this one David Hepworth and Mark Ellen discuss the 50th anniversary of Waterloo, and with a number of references to me as well.
Just listened to Neil Tennant on this great podcast Word In Your Ear talking about Bowie, Bolan and more. Gary Kemp & Spandau gets a few mentions too. Love to hear Neil on Rockonteurs he sounds like he has some great stories to tell 🙏
Mark Ellen and I have given Neil Tennant his Smash Hits exit interview forty years late. Word In Your Ear podcast coming soon.
In the new Word In Your Ear podcast we’ve been reminiscing about the days when album covers were like The World Of Interiors. Usual outlets.
Sharleen saw Joe Strummer onstage and thought “that’s what I want to be”.
