Due to intense rains, the floodwaters breached embankments causing flooding in agricultural areas. The situation could’ve been far worse. Luckily, the construction of a reservoir by World Vision-led SomReP during the last drought cycle averted flooding in nearby village.

Amid the flood situation in Somalia, the government and humanitarian agencies are working in close collaboration, extending help to affected regions. This support encompasses the distribution of essential supplies and dissemination of flood awareness messages #floodsafety

The recent heavy Gu rains have triggered widespread flooding in parts of Somalia, affecting more than 124,155 individuals according to the April 28 report by UN Humanitarian. Remember, your safety is paramount, so you're highly reminded to seek help from local authorities to remain safe.
