Oh my. If management thought they could weaken the branch by stalling and offering up nothing, judging by that @SheffieldUCU meeting they've miscalculated badly. Really heartening stuff! Big meeting, big vote on staying strong, fury at management's spin.

It actually makes me cry when I think of the change at Sheffield. An apparently deliberate shift from pretty good industrial relations to a highly punitive zero-sum approach. What is the end game? Even success in ‘defeating the union’ will be the most pyrrhic of victories. 😢

Was in the negotiating meeting here and it was astounding to hear the employer say that they didn’t want to be seen providing these things (that they asked us to suggest) as a result of the branch asking for them
