A full house which included many UK professional jazz musicians ⁦Watermill Jazz,⁩ Dorking Tuesday were treated by US supergroup Larry Goldings - Hammond organ, Peter Bernstein - guitar and Bill Stewart - drums to another great evening of live jazz. Thanks to all concerned.

Tuesday evening ⁦Watermill Jazz,⁩ Dorking the Rob Barron Trio being ⁦⁦Rob Barron⁩,⁩ ⁦Joshua Morrison⁩ & Jeremy Brown on bass presented ‘Leonard Bernstein Reimagined’ with vocalist Emma Smith delighting the crowd with a quality jazz take on LB’s works.

Tuesday Watermill Jazz Lars Danielsson’s Liberetto thrilled a sell-out audience with stunningly beautiful contemporary modern jazz. My standout was Lar’s solo bass rendition of ‘Both Sides Now’ but all were wonderful. LD + John Parricelli, Gregory Privat, Magnus Ostrum.

Tuesday evening Watermill Jazz, Dorking the music of Paul Desmond and Jim Hall was smoothly presented by the Alison Neale Quartet with her fine alto sax playing complimented by Colin Oxley - guitar, Matt Fishwick - drums and Simon Read - bass. Thanks.

As it storms into its 30th year ⁦Watermill Jazz⁩ Dorking were graced Tuesday evening by the fabulous Liane Carroll who, despite a recent major arm operation, delivered two great sets of vocal jazz superbly aided by Malcolm Edmonstone, Roger Carey & Russell Field.

Superb final concert of 2023 by New Focus (pianist Euan Stevenson and saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski) at the Traverse in Edinburgh last night. First concert of 2024 will be Watermill Jazz in Dorking on Tue 16 Jan.
