Alejandro, Jose, Dorlian, Miguel, Maynor and Carlos not only helped maintain the bridge — they built bridges of opportunity for their families here and abroad.

.President Biden' Affordable Connectivity Program is helping over 23 million households save $30-75 a month on internet bills.

If Congressional Republicans fail to act, funding for the program will run out and millions of Americans will lose access to affordable, high-speed internet.

My heart is broken for the Bridge workers and their families. These men were fathers, sons, and members of vibrant communities around Baltimore. They were performing the critical work of keeping our infrastructure safe and in good condition when the unthinkable happened.

Alejandro, Jose, Dorlian, Miguel, Maynor and Carlos are immigrant heroes.

In the middle of the night, they labored on the Francis Scott Key Bridge to make the daily commute smoother for tens of thousands of travelers.

We join their families here and abroad in mourning them.

Thank you, Mr. President! Your administration's support has been invaluable, and I have no doubt that you will provide every resource possible as we work to rebuild the Key Bridge and our communities hearts together.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge is vital to our economy, and it's vital to our quality of life.

That's why I've directed my team to work with Maryland and move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as soon as humanly possible.
