Parents, students, educators, and members of the public spoke out about the former Superintendents’ draft of the social studies standards. It would have been nice if they would have truly listened to those people. Students over politics.

We are glad that VDOE has posted their updated standards. The public should judge if VDOE took into consideration the parents that spoke out our not. It should be students over politics. You be the judge.

It should be made clear that people who worked on the August draft did not work on the Superintendent’s draft of the social studies standards we want students over politics. The august draft was a students first draft.

It's a sad day for students in Virginia. Here is the latest copy of the History & Social Science SOL revision the #VDOE plans to vote on this week.
