Harlow will have been a disappointing result for Labour - not least given they held it during Miliband & Corbyn's leadership. More than anything else I think it probably reinforces Essex's position as the new true Tory heartland.

Govt spokesperson cheerily telling us that voter ID works, saying that at last year’s elections ‘99.75% of people were able to cast their vote successfully.’ That means 0.25% weren’t, which may sound small, but in an average general election that’s 200,000 voters.
