Saying Healthcare is #NotATarget misses the point:
it IS a target.
Attacking healthcare is illegal, but as a military strategy, the logic is impeccable:
- amplifies the harm of war
- creates intolerable living conditions
- drives forced displacement
- facilitates ethnic cleansing
A noteworthy thread about the continued pattern of IDF attacks on humanitarians. Since Oct. 7, five MSF International staff have been killed in Gaza. Hospitals, healthcare infrastructure & personnel have been repeatedly hit by strikes or bullets, despite our numerous pleas to stop it.
Heartfelt condolences to our friends World Central Kitchen. This deadly attack wasn't an isolated incident. Israel has deliberately attacked humanitarian workers & demonstrated disregard for the protection of medical & humanitarian aid.🚨We need an immediate sustained #CeasefireNow . 🚨
