The program started with the U.S. premiere of Sauli Zinovjev’s Batteria, after which the composer came out for a bow. Klaus Mäkelä then led the CSO in Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto — with Sol Gabetta — and Tenth Symphony before mingling with patrons.
