ZEV inventories are at record levels in Canada. The federal government's EV sales mandate designed to 'increase the supply' of EVs is redundant.

Mass adoption depends on addressing the growing charging infrastructure gap and affordability challenges, not mandating sales.

The CVMA applauds measures in the 2024 federal budget aimed at supporting the transformation to electrification in the automotive industry. However, we remain concerned that the government lacks a clear plan to achieve its mandated EV sales targets.
