We are happy to share our latest publication on the question of what happens when an organism can no longer respond to cytosolic proteotoxic stress. Moritz Muehlhofer FEBS_Letters febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
📢In recognition of his fundamental contributions to #ProteinStructure formation and the role of #chaperones , Prof. Johannes Buchner BuchnerLab TU München will be awarded the #OttoWarburgMedal 2024 of the GBM and its sponsors Elsevier and BBA🏅Congrats🎉

Yevheniia Bushman BuchnerLab Gordon Research Conferences Katka Slánská A_bsmeierRamona Faya And thanks to Tuan from the BuchnerLab for the wonderful little piano concerts during some breaks in the afternoon!
A big thank you to Brian and Harm for a great Gordon Research Conferences. It was an honour to give the keynote speech. We heard great talks and had amazing discussions at our poster sessions from Katka Slánská A_bsmeierRamona Faya Yevheniia Bushman and Tuan Nguyen and the talk given by Martin.
Next up was Johannes Buchner BuchnerLab who reminded us of the essential roles of chaperones in regulating protein stability. Proteins are only marginally stable and molecular chaperones are key to modulating transitions between unfolded and native states. (5/n)
We are very proud of our runners who all completed the 11 km run at the TUM Campus run in under 1 hour TU München
Check out our latest publication on ACE inhibitors that stabilize our ACE2-Fc fusion protein targeting SARS-CoV-2. This great collaboration with Sattler Lab shows how labile receptor segments in therapeutics can be stabilized by chemical compounds.

We are happy to share our latest publication in Communications Biology. We see that a mutation in the constant domain of a light chain can disrupt the protective dimer interface and thus can promote amyloid formation. rdcu.be/c6cFA
We are excited to share our latest publication in Communications Biology on our IgM scaffold-based antiviral fusion protein. This ACE2-IgM hexamer can neutralize SARS-CoV-2 variants with picomolar affinity.

Thanks so much to BuchnerLab lab members Andy and Stefan for making this beautiful hat for me. I think, i will start selling Hsp90 merchandise at the next meeting. 😁
We celebrate the opening of the 'Center for Functional #Protein Assemblies' (CPA), the new complex for #interdisciplinary research in #biomedicine , subsidized with 40 million euros from the federal and state governments: go.tum.de/003128 👏
