'Storytelling' is everywhere. Everything is _not_ story! Narrative isn't the only way to interpret our world. It can often be a band-aid to patch over contradictions, differences, inconsistencies. Whatever truth may be, it might lie in the spaces between what we think we know.

Repairing the harms of AI already experienced by justice-seeking groups should be a global priority. AI contributes to climate change, amplifies discrimination and undermines dignified work. Equitable AI will be designed, sustained and governed by the communities it most impacts.

I'm very excited to be co-directing this CIFAR-funded Solution Network to examine inclusively governed data and AI systems. We believe there are viable and scalable cooperatively-owned alternatives to the extractive platform models that too often exclude marginalized communities.

I really enjoyed this opportunity to talk with Cyn on the Quantization Podcast about her work with Tangled Art + Disability, and to reflect on the complexities and possibilities of inclusive creativity.

Coding in the curriculum is great, but we also need more resources and tools to help educators teach coding inclusively, otherwise the kids who could benefit the most from 'coding to learn' will be left out. That's why we started the Coding to Learn & Create community.
