Bypass pump has been turned back on and the spill on Candi Lane has stopped. Maintenance crews have put up banners and signs and will begin the cleanup process.

Thanks so much Soda City Pools and Spas, LLC for doing a river cleanup with us! We picked up several hundred pounds of trash from the banks of the Broad River, including 300+ plastic bottles, 180+ aluminum cans, a fire extinguisher, and a subwoofer. 🧯🔈🚮

We think requiring identification signs at wastewater outfalls is a common sense way to inform river users, improve transparency, and help address pollution problems.

But, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the polluters they represent are pushing back.

One of the best ways to maintain tree canopy cover is to protect and restore floodplains and riparian buffers. This also provides the additional benefits of reducing flooding and improving water quality. 🌳💧
