Day 18 the last full day of work. Dee Archaeology's total station plotted the site grid; the floor was planned, the roof slate layer was being removed; the layer below the 'pond' feature was exposed and finally we have a Roman feature cut into the natural clay!

Day 16 on the Grosvenor Park dig, the rain stopped and we had a great Open Afternoon. A popular visitor was the University's Digital on Tour van who were 3-D scanning some of our finds including this key. Hist&ArchChester

Day 15 - water, water everywhere. The feature on the south edge of the site has a very thick clay lining, it must have been important that it was water tight. Another well-constructed drain has been found cutting the gutter-like drain in the north-west corner! Hist&ArchChester
If you would like to find out more about what the students have been finding in Grosvenor Park come to the open afternoon tomorrow.

The view from the top of the camera pole, much better than the usual ones from the top of the spoil heap, thank you Dee Archaeology. The floor surface, slate spread, drain and robbed-out wall are all visible.
Don't forget the open afternoon 14 May 1.30 - 4.30 pm
