Month ago our #MOBICON project organised a workshop in the Canary Islands to understand changes in nature-based tourism and information needs of the administration.

Our DigitalGeographyLab is particularly strong in quantitative spatial methods.
Recently, we've also employed people with qualitative & mixed methods expertise to gain a fuller understanding of our study topics. Thanks e.g. to Aina Brias Guinart for running the workshops of #MOBICON project🤩

Our next speaker is Olle Järv 🇺🇦 from the University of Helsinki!
Olle specializes in analyzing human mobilities in spatial, temporal and social contexts, using data from mobile phones and social media.

Glad to be invited to present our latest research DigitalGeographyLab!

My takeaways:
1) We lack data & knowledge about cross-border #mobility of people.
2) Novel data sources can mitigate knowledge gap.
3) Most importantly, #borderregion should be addressed more in regional studies.
