Good morning to remember that the Court’s balance of power stayed the same from 2006-2018 with 5 cons and 4 libs, and Alito is the only GOP justice who during that time NEVER joined the libs in a 5-4 case.

All Alito had to say was, “Yeah, she was mad, it was a mistake, I’m sorry.” Unfortunately, being a caring and human decent being is not in Alito’s DNA.

Eric Segall Greg So so right. The US Supreme Court is so dramatically politicized relative to apex courts in other developed states. That can be seen in USSC’s lack of influence abroad.

Roberts hated the Voting Rights Act in 1981. Justice Kennedy expressed sympathy for the right to privacy/gay rights before becoming a Justice. Alito hated unions as a toddler. Gorsuch was wildly sympathetic to Native Americans before on SCOTUS. They all voted that way. #notacourt

If any law profs who see this are Republicans, I’m curious your reaction to a GOP Senator (Vance) explicitly saying he likes how Orban handles education. Are you willing to say how terrible that is? Are you willing to say your current party leaders want Russian style LGBTQ rules?

So NBA teams get two total challenges (if and only if they win their first one). Unless there’s a special circumstance, don’t use it in the 1st quarter. Just don’t. Bad idea. You’ll need it in the 4th (until with two minutes left after which the challenge is lost). Just say no.
