Day 3 of the #READYAcademy featured interactive dramadies focused on 'Pedagogy of the Oppressed' and 'Theatre of the Oppressed.' - aiming to change the attitudes of the oppressed rather than the perspective of the oppressor through public interaction or debate. #WeAreREADY 🎭

Day 2 of the #READYAcademy was packed with sessions covering health, gender, sex, sexuality, and safety and practical skills-building workshops on monitoring and evaluation, theory of change, and concept note writing.

📽 Reflections from Kenya: Our ED John Plastow spoke with Rosemary Kasiba, ED Swop Ambassadors about the challenges sex workers face, including rising violence, forced unprotected sex & gang rapes, which increase their risk of HIV.
The #READYMovement is a unique one, led by relentless youth-led and youth-serving organisations dedicated to empowering Resilient and Empowered Adolescents and Young People from across the African region.

In a reflection session, the Alumni from the #READYAcademy 1.0 held in 2022, shared how impactful the #READYMovement and Academy had been in their advocacy journey.
Past winners of the Seed Grant challenge also revealed how they implemented their community-based projects.
We are pleased to have Columbus Ndeloa from Elton John AIDS Foundation who shared his eagerness to learn about the #READYAcademy2024 and was looking forward to an awesome experience. He revealed he was in attendance to assess how replicable the academy model was for use in other African regions. 🤩🔥

She gave a background on the movement and it's importance in promoting youth leadership in SRHR and HIV.
