It is great to be working as part of a team developing Multiple Recurrent Neural Networks to forecast #inflation . These deep learning models can be updated as soon as data becomes available. We will be developing this tool to bring you our latest forecasts as the data comes in.
The paper was written during the first 2020 lockdown and warned of increasing demand for food banks as the shocks we have faced have exacerbated income inequalities. Sorry to report it was such a prescient warning.

This note was first circulated in late 2022 and published after refereeing last March.
The short term remit (set by government) does not help the Office for Budget Responsibility locate supply side improvements from public investment. So it takes the hit in order to meet the #fiscalrule .

Although welcome we should not get excited by a one quarter (gu)estimate. Economic growth has been poor for a generation and income per head, a measure of welfare, has stagnated for those in lower income brackets.
