Bringing Taylor Swift to Herne Hill today. I haven't played in public much the past three months due to a finger/arm injury, so I enjoyed this Herne Hill Piano

'Even more exciting is that the tweaks to the makeup of rosters will see more Kiwi women get the opportunity to play at this level than ever before.' Key word is play. Two more imports per team this year. Easy to measure how many mins Kiwis are playing. I don't see it being more.

Unprecedented run. This is a team that went entire seasons without winning a game. When they snapped the 33-game loss streak in 2011, it was like winning a championship. They've come a long way.

Falcons with the big win over Magic in Dunedin women's hoops. Alexa Duff looking exceptional for Falcons. Most skilful women's guard from Otago in years. Might be the best player in the league right now, at 17 years old.

Low key huge result here. Two teams that very well could be in a scrap for the last playoff spots. Taking a win off one of your direct competitors there is massive.

Jeff Cheshire I wouldn’t say Rapid League isn’t meaningful… some crazy talent rose up through the ranks last season because of their Rapid League play. I think Pahlyss, Eva Langton - both were in Tall Ferns set up in large part thanks to Rapid League which gave them a platform to show out.

Having more players signed to rosters doesn't make for more opportunity. Having those players on court playing meaningful minutes does. Rapid League and garbage time at the end of games are not meaningful minutes.

Jeff Cheshire I have been in awe at the way they have played the last few years. Not just the titles but the way they have competed. Last night they looked like a rudderless team. Lack of rebounding, lack of team work.

Jeff Cheshire I wouldn’t say the teams don’t run their stuff during Rapid League though. Obviously teams aren’t going to throw the whole playbook out there - but there’s definitely a lot of correlation between sets being run in RL and Tauihi + NBL. We’ve had one year of Rapid, still work ons!

Can you say the Nuggets have actually fallen off, though? At the moment they're roughly where you'd expect a mid-table team to be. Beat the two bottom teams, snatched one against a top team, then lost three to teams better than them. Only one unexpected result, realistically.

Jeff Cheshire Yeah you are correct. It was so good having a local guy like Sam on the team. They would never be - 20 in rebounds with him.

Isaiah Smiler I need to see teams taking it more seriously to call it meaningful. It's like they're too scared to give anything away and go too deep into their playbook. Players don't learn to guard actions, or make good reads out of them. Basically becomes a glorified scrimmage at that point.
