Was not ready for all of the horrible takes about how rescheduling will solve all the industry's problems. Or even the relatively harmless ones that celebrate this as a good thing. At best, it stops some tax bleeding but the fed reg uncertainty & compliance will make up for it.

The EMTALA case, Moyle v. US, hasn't received as much attention as the mifepristone case, but it is huge. Not only implicates access to emergency medical procedures (like abortion in cases of miscarriage), but the broader question of federal law supremacy. supremecourt.gov

In JAMA Psychiatry, Helena Hansen and I show that 'Deaths of Despair' (from overdose, suicide, alcohol) among Black Americans overtook the rate for White Americans in 2022.

This further debunks the narrative that these deaths uniquely harm White communities.
