This is a pretty wild development.

Supporting peace for the people of both Palestine and Israel requires a rejection of both Hamas and Netanyahu's government. They are both war criminals in a symbiotic relationship, dependent on each other for political survival and reliant on forever war to maintain power. 6/6

In my 20+ years of activism I've never seen this level of police response to so little provocation. The student protests have hit a nerve, and are honestly more threatening to power than I (or likely most anyone) would have guessed.

Fewer than half of all NYPD officers live in NYC and only 25% of LAPD officers live in LA. But keep talking about “outside agitators” coming onto campus to do violence.

I unequivocally condemn antisemitism in all its forms and yesterday voted against H.R. 6090, legislation that conflates genuine critiques of the Israeli government with antisemitism. Speech that is critical of a government must be allowed as protected speech.

People did warn us about Stop Cop City, week in and out for months and months. They were right—they were the first protestors to face an extremely rehabilitated and even more grotesque police force after 2020—and we should say so.

Jeff Sharlet Dartmouth 🌲 Those cops were brutal to me. I promise I did absolutely nothing wrong. I was standing with a line of women faculty in the their 60s to 80s trying to protect our students. I have now been banned from the campus where I have taught for 34 years.
