Sad to report that yet another newly born right whale has been greviously injured, most likely by a boat's propellers off South Carolina. It was the first of nine calves born this year. The critically endangered species can't bear to lose any calves.

Blue whales have been confirmed to frequent the waters around Seychelles. This discovery is significant because Seychelles was a major hunting ground for Soviet whalers in the 20th century.
