Thread: I spent the day in #Halabja & surrounding areas, during a month filled with mixed feelings of many painful memories of violence and destruction in the area but also happiness seeing people rebuilding and life and celebration beating death and destruction.

March is a month when #Halabja suffered chemical attack by #Saddam & his cousin #Chemical_Ali in 1988, Kurdish uprisings spread in 1991, the US & Peshmerga attacked and defeated #Ansarul_Islam ( #ISIS -like terrorists) during the opening salvos of the 2003 war.
