Great @britprop dinner @ Guildhall last night. 20 ex-presidents, strong speeches by ALASTAIR CAMPBELL & Mark Allan on politician/real estate rapprochement, fab The Clink Charity catering & a huge @landaid fundraise. Oh, & here's a BPF 60th happy birthday bagpiped by AC, sung by #CRE
To kick off the #SummerCelebration Amanprit Arnold (She/Her), programme manager at Property X-Change welcomed attendees for joining.
One year since the launch of Property X-Change by the Mayor and GLA as part of its ‘High streets for All mission’. ⬇️
The folk Churches Conservation Trust’s beautiful Holy Trinity, Privett, know how to celebrate in style - they promised a right Royal bash and did not disappoint. Good to see old churches imbued with so much life and energy - that’s what we try and encourage.
Pleased to have had the chance Industrial & Logistics Conference & Showcase yesterday to stress importance of the ‘I’ as well as the ‘L’ - as shown in Centre for London’s Industrial Land Commission. Need better planning - and PR - for the plethora of necessary industrial land uses.
It was an honour & privilege to deliver the Chapman/Barrigan lecture. I hope I have caused our industry to think a bit more deeply about how we build trust through what we do. Huge thanks to the organisers, to Goldman Sachs for hosting & to Samantha McClary for her great leader.
We Churches Conservation Trust were delighted that Department for Culture, Media and Sport Heritage Minister, Lord Parkinson, was able to take time to visit our beautiful church in Albury Park (Pugin Chapel is fabulous) and spend so long talking to us about the role of CCT in supporting churches and their communities.
After many years of planning and hard graft refurb, Churches Conservation Trust launched its Sound &Art St Swithun’s venture in a stunning 18th century church in heart of Worcester. Many thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund and other generous donors. And well done to the CCT team.
This morning we’re thrilled to be Buro Happold for our event this morning on what life is really like in the new low-carbon neighbourhoods in the Olympic Park London Legacy Development Corporation Hawkins\Brown centreforlondon.org/event/life-sus…
As always, a very useful summary of the current state of play. Well done Dr Alexandra Meakin for ensuring that this subject continues to be well covered. How we look after the decaying Palace of Westminster is too important a subject to be relegated to BAU!
Found this in the Golden Oldie section of The Property Chronicle - thought it was a really well argued piece. Confirms, though, that we need a definitive guide to calculating embodied carbon if decisions about existing buildings are to be made sensibly.
A fabulous event from Churches Conservation Trust & RSCM Centre - Zeb Soames & the wonderful choir both entertained and educated us. Who knew that Mendelssohn’s Hark the Herald was written in celebration of Gutenberg’s printing press! Yes - let’s try and make it an annual event.
Delighted to be asked once again by the Friends of St Mary’s Hartley Wintney (a beautiful II* medieval church looked after by Churches Conservation Trust) to take part in their Advent Service - candles, wall paintings, spectacular decorations - what a wonderful and moving occasion!
