Nothing brings the colonial heritage of Lagos to the fore like a royal visit.

A mixed bag: good, bad, ugly.

Let's 'delve' in:

No National Anthem? No drivers out washing cars? I noted all the little things but hyperfocus had set in and I was in work mode.😩 It was the light traffic that did it. That, and the absurdity of a woman dragging along 2 toddlers in three-piece suits under our Lagos sun.

MeghansMole©️ This is all your projection. Nigerian Muslims, Christians, traditional religionists, atheists and agnostics love Lady Diana's baby boy and the love of his life. Meghan is also seen as family. She is at home and her dressing doesn't bother anyone in Nigeria. Please don't associate…

Not me waking up at 6am, walking 10 km, getting dress and driving to work, only to find that it’s Sunday today.

I even wore my Romanian blouse in solidarity with Rares's family who lost one of their beloved pets last night.

Been laughing at myself all morning. 😂

Meghan embodies all the qualities that Harry wants to freely express. These qualities, coupled with their authenticity, are what people are drawn to. The kindness they exude effectively counters all the lies and the hate.

That's aṣọ-ẹbí, which, in Yoruba, means 'cloth-of-kin' but all Nigerians wear outfits cut from specified fabric to events as a way of showing support, demonstrating kinship/community, signifying common values & goals, to honour & celebrate.👇🏽Guests at my 50th birthday party.

I belong to the generation that sometimes refer to his mum as 'Lady Diana'. I remember when Prince Harry was born, and felt intense waves of pride while reading Spare.
Prince Harry inherited the gift of making people feel fully seen & embraced. Pleased to see him in Nigeria.

Would be cool to publish 50...okay 10 children's books about inspiring Nigerian girls/women born after 1940. UNSUNG heroes who stood up, stared down, challenged tradition or changed minds.
Names, stories and sponsors needed. 😁
