Our hearts are with Kulsuma Akter's loved ones.

We are outraged that the accused was granted bail despite having assaulted and threatened to kill her. Her homicide is another example of women being let down due to systemic failure to treat MVAWG with the seriousness it deserves.

We are appalled at the police and CPS response, which illustrates why our criminal justice system is not fit for purpose in its failure to distinguish between victims and perpetrators.

We are concerned about proposals for new social housing allocation policies which will severely limit the ability of survivors to flee abuse & other forms of VAWG. Without safe, affordable housing, survivors are often forced into homelessness or returning to their abuser.

There no words that do justice to the impact that #EvanStark had. Quite simply, he 'got' domestic abuse, defining coercive control, & was the most entertaining speaker. He made us both laugh & listen, & had queues of people wanting to meet him at Women's Aid conference. A legend.

After six weeks of questions and campaigning RISE has received no assurances from the Labour-led administration at Brighton and Hove Council that cuts to RISE will be withdrawn.
