I agree David. At Waterton Academy Trust we work with three schools in LSOAs that are categorised as ‘left behind’. These schools do incredible things, but much more is needed, and local partnerships are critical.

This is fascinating. Helpful to understand the multiple disadvantages in some areas and how schools, by themselves, can’t fully make up for that.

This is welcome but long overdue. We need broader reform of an accountability system that created perverse incentives & makes it harder for schools that are truly inclusive. DfE commissioning part of this too. Inclusion should be at the heart of which trusts grow & which don’t.
