So, what might happen now? There have been fairly strong indications that a motion of no confidence may be tabled. Note that how it is drafted is key if it is to have effect. A motion focussing on the FM alone, like one about any specific minister, has no legal effect.

Today David Lammy told Institute for Government how he would run the Foreign Office if Labour win. He has big ambitions, both for the dept itself and for the UK's role in the world. Right now, not being too detailed makes sense, but lots of hard work to come!
