The River Roding had the honour of becoming the 1st river to have a government run Interspecies Council. Hosted by Moral Imaginations, different groups who care for the river- from local river guardians to public officials- explored environmental issues… endsreport.com/article/186138…

… from the perspective of the river & the different species that inhabit & rely on it. This different way of approaching & thinking about human impact on, & guardianship of the river, feels like an important step towards adopting a Rights of Nature approach for the Roding.

Hopefully other rivers pursuing guardianship & Rights of Nature approaches will also host Interspecies Councils: thinking this could be something that Save The Wye Coalition might be interested in? If any group would be interested in hosting a council, do contact Moral Imaginations
