I last conducted BBC Singers the day before their closure was announced.
So the moment at last night’s concert when our audience burst into spontaneous cheers when Ian Skelly said “it’s good to have them back, isn’t it” is one I won’t forget.
Thank you BBC Singers ❤️
Looking forward to hosting this tonight at Cadogan Hall for future transmission BBC Radio 3. If you are ‘made in Chelsea’ or at least in the vicinity, then come along. Should be a corker.
Fantastic to hear my music brought to life by the awesome
BBC Singers directed by Graham Ross. Last few tickets remaining for this evening’s concert. It’s a great programme including Roderick Williams and culminating with Parry’s stunning Songs of Farewell. cadoganhall.com/whats-on/chora…

Always such a thrill to conduct BBC Singers, who are sounding 🔥 in rehearsals for Cadogan Hall tonight! Hildegard, Byrd & Tallis - reimagined by Christian Forshaw, Roderick Williams, & me - and Parry’s introspective masterpiece Songs of Farewell.

Imogen Holst: composer, conductor, arranger, educator, amanuensis, born #otd in 1907. The focus of my first ever Clare College Choir recording for harmonia mundi. It has been such a joy hearing from so many around the world since then who became introduced to her music from my recording.

Delighted to become Hon President of Farnham & Bourne Choral Society, and to be writing a new Te Deum for them to premiere in Nov under Ben de Souza Ben de Souza. Some 30 years ago I was treble soloist in their Elijah so it's a lovely honour to accept this & come full circle!
