New TheorApplGenet paper on historical selection in winter wheat with Chin Jian Yang, Ian Mackay, Funmi Ladejobi, Prof Wayne Powell.

Historical allele frequency changes increased yield, but reduced flowering time, lodging, plant height and grain protein content.

Working with multiple collaborators we cloned the Rht13 alternative dwarfing gene. Buckle-up- it's not what we expected... Unlike other wheat dwarfing genes it isn't a gibberellin signalling/metabolic gene- it's an autoactive NB-LRR!
