I am living with unrelenting #pain w/no #medical input. I am seeking #urgent #help from a #physician , who has an interest in #softtissue #infection & #headandneck #pathology . I'll work with you for as a long as it takes. thx.

When it looks like a cover-up,
when it sounds like a cover-up,
when it walks like a cover-up,
when those with an interest in denying it is a cover-up,
claim it is not a cover-up,
is it a cover-up?

Over 1600 votes so far! An overwhelming 80% people said they had been accused of faking their symptoms — a form of #medicalgaslighting . My next newsletter will be a love letter to all of those who have gone through this. 💔 You can get it here:

I find the ‘safety in numbers’ mentality in #healthcare menacing. “Everyone else has turned a blind eye to her, so we are safe to do it too.’ I wish that I could hold up a mirror to the 50+ #clinicians who I have seen, so that they can see just how chilling their complacency is.
Zed Zha, MD, FAAFP is writing Felicia Kate Solomon Was told by pain psych “You don’t have to be in pain” when I got an increase in pain meds. Psych nurses sent me to him bc they thought my abd. pain was functional. Had expl. surgery a few months later: broad ligament hernia w intermittent ovarian torsion & bowel obstruction.”
My initial #diagnosis in 2014 was orbital #cellulitis . A soft tissue infection is the likely cause of my #pain . If I do have an #SSTI , with a #diagnostic #delay of 11-yrs, I worry that my soft tissue and muscle is now permanently damaged, & beyond repair.

'I believe you.' -- something I say A LOT. Sometimes, this Is enough to make people cry, because medicine has a bad habit of assuming people 'fake' their symptoms.
Have you been accused of (directly/indirectly) 'faking it' by your medical team? Please comment. #AskThePatient ❤️🩹
The hardest part of dealing with the UK #healthcare system has been the things #clinicians have said to me; ‘Stop chasing the dragon,’ ‘We’ll wait for you to get really ill before we do anything,’ ‘Stop shopping around.’ It’s the coldness of their words that leaves me so aghast.
The first #ophthalmologist who I saw in 2014, thought that a #staphylococcusAureus infection was the cause of my #facial #pain . I have been taking #antibiotics for 11-yrs, but when I come off them my symptoms return. Could this indicate an #MRSA infection?
