I was lucky enough to be at Welsh National Opera’s Death in Venice tonight, it was fabulous, but mostly I was moved by the sensitivity and virtuosity of the orchestra, under threat of a 15% pay cut-7 weeks less work a year. Please do sign this to support them.

I hope that this reaches the ears of Rishi Sunak, Lucy Frazer, Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Department for Education and HM Treasury. The Tories have failed the arts for over a decade, undoubtedly scared of their impact…
If I ever need to remember how love might sound in music I listen to the 3rd part of this, I cried all the way through it at the Opera House. Tremendous recording, congratulations Thomas Adès and the team.
