Earlier today on K24 TV, we unveiled the results of our Nguvu Collective survey on obstetric violence against women in 27 Kenyan counties. Shockingly, 83% of respondents reported experiencing OBV. Urgent support is needed to implement national policy protecting women from this.
When an issue is rarely spoken about, the only way to amplify it is through strong partnerships.
As Nguvu Collective launched its maiden evidence-building report on Obstetric Violence in Kenya, our partners Stop Obstetric Violence Hon.Gathoni Wamuchomba, HSC, MP GAMAFRICAfoundation cheered us on. Thank you!
Cases of violence and abuse against women seeking medical assistance are on the rise.
