Epigraph to Orwell's Roses, because it's such a brilliant reminder that warnings are not prophesies of doom: their premise is that we are deciding the future with what we do or fail to do in the present. That we have choices.

Sometimes I write complex deeply-layered poems, and sometimes I write simple little love poems, but the love poems are about old churches.

These courageous students at Columbia University have put their bodies on the line to stop genocide in Gaza and to show us all how to oppose state sponsored violence. We owe them everything, and I am proud to be a Columbia University alumni because of their bravery & wisdom. ❤️

I feel like THIS is getting lost. They were suspended so that they could be charged with trespassing, which leaves them UNHOUSED, far from home. Their belongings were DUMPED. Like, I fucking cannot with the “book ban” misdirection. BODIES are being banned. From their rights.
