The winter wheat planting window continues up to May 31, and we encourage farmers to expedite planting to ensure that we get the best yields and avoid getting into the next summer rains. This is our best foot forward to negate the drought impact.

We encourage farmers to grow winter wheat, as it is our honour to do it for our country. We produced a surplus last year 2023 season, and we can do even better again.

Wheat planting window stretches from 1–31 May, depending on altitude. For low veld, it is recommended to plant from 1–10 May, middle veld from 1–15 May, and high veld from 1–31 May. Let us be cautious of these to ensure a good yield.
