Ideological capture makes obvious solutions to easily solvable problems impossible. Here are three:

1. Academic: Fire plagiarists 
2. Legal: Incarcerate rioters  
3. Media: Don’t put an ideologue in charge of National Public Radio NPR

Let them escalate this into a full-blown plagiarism war. Let them settle scores and exact petty revenge through accusation and counter-accusation. Let faculties fall into suspicion and recrimination.
