Cole Ragans picks up his first win of the season

After a 3 1/2 hour rain delay, much of it after the rain stopped, this game has been called. The Royals have defeated the Blue Jays 2-1.

Welp. We are nowhere nearer to knowing when this game will be restarted. But there field has lines on it again and appears to be ready.

There are rumblings that the Royals-Blue Jays game will start again at 6 p.m.

Tarp monster is stirring at Kauffman Stadium

The groundskeepers are back on the field. It looks like the tarp is about to be taken off the field here at Kauffman Stadium.

After delay in calling a rain delay, the umpires have indeed called a rain delay. The tarp is coming out.

Royals looking for answers. This is wild: the rain delay that wasn’t.

The Royals groundskeepers started rolling out the tarp when they were stopped by the umpires. Apparently, Blue Jays manager John Schneider asked the umps to let them keep playing and he got his wish.

And Isbel did it in the rain. Incredible play.

The rain has picked up at Kauffman Stadium, but the Royals have a 2-1 lead heading to the bottom of the fifth inning, meaning we have achieved an official game.

Salvador Perez hits a two-run shot, giving Royals a 2-0 lead. Salvy now has 837 career RBIs, which ties him with Mike Sweeney for fifth-most in Royals history
