Greatly enjoyed ‘Lone Wolf’ by Gregg Hurwitz. It’s the ninth in his Orphan-X series, action-packed thrillers that are amusing too. In this latest one, AI is a running theme and it is handled really well.
This is absolutely crucial and contrary to so much of the current debate, both in the media and in parliament (eg the recent meeting of the Business and Trade Committee, ably chaired by Liam Byrne MP - this would have been invaluable input, and a challenge to Lord Sumption).
Excited to launch my new book tonight in Oxford, hosted by Ian Goldin at the Oxford Martin School. The in-person event is fully booked, but you can still sign up for the online stream here. -- oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/events/growth-…
Looking forward to my conversation with Daniel Susskind on his great new book on growth.
This is a great summary in the The Times and The Sunday Times of the main arguments of Daniel’s new book on growth.
'We must leave no one behind': Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland KC, is supporting digital progress, with a focus on #AI .

Congratulations to Daniel Susskind. His new book GROWTH: A RECKONING is out today (@AllenLaneBooks) in UK. Available on Amazon at amazon.co.uk/Growth-Reckoni…. It explains economic growth (largely rooted in technology & innovation), its benefits and drawbacks. Superb. Very proud dad!
Thrilled to have an essay in The Times and The Sunday Times this morning, drawing on my new book 'Growth: A Reckoning'. I explore our (surprisingly new) obsession with economic growth -- one of our most important, but also most dangerous, ideas.

I've a column online in The Times and The Sunday Times today on using AI to draft legislation & regulation and then to generate legal rules as executable code. In time, both uses of AI should be required by the rule of law, a concept whose reach should extend as tech advances: tinyurl.com/342npe75
Tis #Week11 in my Tech Law class at Lincoln Alexander School of Law and we are prognosticating the praxis of tech law. My students had to read Richard Susskind’s book “Tomorrow’s Lawyers” & I invited 3 guests to discuss futurisms of tech law practice in Canada from various practice perspectives
Jamie Susskind Katya Adler Aleks Krotoski Richard Susskind In Katya's defence, this is my fault as well. I lost track of which Susskind we were talking about.
Katya Adler Aleks Krotoski 😂 this interview was with my brother Daniel Susskind. (You and I did an interview together at Hay a few years ago.) Don’t worry - we are broadly interchangeable. There’s always Richard Susskind too.
