Yesterday’s walk: Views through a pandanus palm leaning into the sand.
Also known as coastal screwpine, some are a source of food while others provide raw material for clothing, basket weaving & shelter.
Commonly found subtropical regions, of Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

Saw this on the way back from our walk today.
So, is this a really tiny home, an old motor home with a difference or a food truck. My guess is it belongs to a grey nomad who wanted a custom built campervan . What do you think? #Campervan #RVLife

There’s a fair bit of military history in Moreton Bay.
We found this monument commemorating allied personnel engaged in amphibious training exercises between 1942 and 1945 during World War Two. #WW2 #History

We’re a bit like kids on a seaside holiday, keeping ourselves amused with these little blue soldier crabs, LOL.
🦀 Can see why they’re called soldier crabs. They move in large armies on estuarine sand/mud flats at low tide and apparently only grow up to 2.5cm.

Pelicans in flight. Look at that wingspan! Their wingspan can reach up to 3m, which makes the pelican Australia's largest flying bird. They are found in estuarine waterways, rivers and lakes throughout Australia.

Lest we forget…
It’s Anzac Day today, our second in Australia. A day of remembrance that marks significant moments when Australians fought in conflict and war from 1914 to present day.
We saw two old war planes fly over this morning commemorating these times. #AnzacDay2024

My fascination with pelicans keeps growing. I managed to snap a pic of one of the pelicans catching a fish the other day, but didn’t have a decent camera so photo not that great, you might just see the fish in it’s gular pouch. #BirdsSeenIn2024 #birds

Yesterday’s exploration took us to another beach. At low tide, a beautiful safe swimming area for young kids. A great place to walk as well, with one side for dogs on leashes and the other no dogs allowed. #walking #ExploreEverywhere #familyfun
